Hello, my name is Mashie, but I go by Mash. I have recently entered my 30's and boy did it all start with a bang.
Besides spending time on my carved-out space on the internet, I am a daughter, a mother (biological and bonus), a partner, a cousin, a homemaker, a property manager, a communications graduate, a freelancer and a host of other roles.
While all those roles make up a chunk of who I am, I try to never identify myself using them. Then again, they make it easier to give you an idea of where I am coming from.
I grew up a very confident, very forward child. Fear did not exist in my world (unless it was a fear of snakes). No was just a word and the possibility of realising whatever dream was sure as the sun rising every morning.Â
My journey with blogging started in varsity. At the time the possibility of having my own blog seemed overwhelming. So, I contributed to existing organizations. I also dabbled a bit in news reading, production, reporting and presenting.
I was trying to find my 'thing.' And I did.
Since then, I have zeroed in on wellness blogging. At first this was meant to be wellness blogging from a chronic illness survivors' perspective. Since becoming a mother and finding joy in homemaking, I find I owe it to myself to explore and understand what wellness looks like now.
I'm still a chronic illness survivor, who is also a mother that manages the home, some property and still working towards my career goals.
I believe that anyone can live their wildest dreams. Regardless of the roles they embody. Finding what works best for you and creating a system that not only enables but encourages this is very crucial. And that's the main reason for this blog.
Throwing away societal expectations and drawing up your own map to success.
No one knows better than you how that looks like.
